In adherence to the global effort to manage and contain the spread of Coronavirus, Recovery Direct has put in place a number of precautionary measures to limit the risk for Covid-19 contaminations in or at the centre.
The centre has implemented the best practices as suggested by WHO which include the implementation of increased, simple, practical hygiene measures and the adoption of new procedures in terms of contact, distancing and isolation.
Admissions
Recovery Direct is fully operational and is classified as an Essential Service. This means the centre is always open and never closes.
Potential in patients need a negative result COVID test prior to admission. This takes 24-48 hours and is available at various test sites (https://www.pathcare.co.za/
External visitors/practitioners are still on temporary hold until further notice.
Staff
All staff adhere to the following procedures:
- temperature check on entry
- personal hand sanitizers issued
- face masks are compulsory
Facility Hygiene
Recovery Direct has ensured that the following is in place:
- appropriate signage
- hand soap freely available
- hand sanitizer freely available
- increased cleaning of most-used surfaces
Social Distance
The community undertakes NOT to physically touch patients or staff at the Recovery Direct Centre, and/or be at the centre with any cold or flu-like symptoms present. All community members undertake to use hand sanitizer and wash hands available at key points of the buildings and to maintain a one-meter distance from all Recovery Direct staff, patients.
In “lockdown” patients errands/business/duties e.t.c into or out of the centre are restricted in much the same way as the rest of South Africa.
Patient Essentials Purchases
Please note that only essential items are permitted to be sold at the supermarkets. The Driver makes purchases on behalf of patients.
All purchases are disinfected, checked and then distributed.
Counselling
Outpatient counselling is available online. Please call us to make an appointment.
Screening
All community members voluntarily agree to complete, with complete honesty, the screening questionnaire to ascertain possible risks. The results of which may result in not being granted access to the facility.
Medical Support
As always Recovery Direct employs registered nurses and medical doctor services to ensure that your wellbeing is at all times being attended to.
